Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Piknova collects, uses, and protects your information.

Your images are never uploaded.Every image tool on this site runs inside your browser. Your files are not sent to us, not sent to anyone else, and not stored anywhere. The sections below cover the data a website does unavoidably handle: your account, if you make one, and analytics and advertising.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following information to provide and improve our services:

  • Email address (via Clerk authentication), if you choose to create an account. No tool on this site requires one.
  • Account information
  • Basic usage analytics: which tools are opened and which actions are completed, so we know what to build next
  • IP address (via analytics, advertising or authentication providers)
  • Anonymous tool ratings: your star rating, an optional note, a two-letter country code worked out from your connection or your device's time zone, and a random ID stored in your browser. No name, email, account, or precise location is attached.

If you buy a home page sponsor slot, we also keep what you put in the sponsor form (your name, email, brand name, short line, link, logo and any notes) and the payment ID and status Dodo Payments sends us. We use them to review the slot, show it, send you receipts and handle refunds. While you fill the form in, it is also saved in your own browser so you can pick it up later; that copy never leaves your device and is deleted once you pay.

We never see or store payment card details. Sponsor payments are handled end to end by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record, under their Privacy Policy.

2. Uploaded Images

Image tools on Piknova process your files entirely inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

This is a technical fact rather than a policy promise: the editing, splitting, merging, compressing, converting, resizing and background removal all happen on a canvas in the tab you have open. Your file never leaves your device, so there is no copy of it for us to keep, lose, sell or be compelled to hand over.

No UploadYour images are not transmitted to us or to any third party.
No StorageWe do not store your images, temporarily or otherwise.
No AI TrainingNothing you open here is used to train any model.

The one exception is not an image you own: the YouTube thumbnail, avatar and banner downloaders take a video or channel link and fetch that already-public image from YouTube on our server. No file of yours is involved.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party providers to operate our platform:

Clerk (Authentication)Supabase (Database)Cloudflare (Hosting)Dodo Payments (Payments, Merchant of Record)Google AdSense (Advertising)Google Analytics (Analytics)PostHog (Product Analytics, Session Recording)Ahrefs Analytics (Traffic Measurement)DataFast (Analytics)

These providers may process data according to their own respective privacy policies.

4. Advertising

Piknova is free to use and is supported in part by advertising. We use Google AdSense to serve ads on this site.

  • Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits.
How to opt out

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

You can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

More detail on how Google uses data from sites that use its services is at Google's partner sites policy.

Ads pay for the tools, which is why every tool is free, has no watermark and has no export limit. Advertising never affects what the tools will do for you.

5. Marketing Communications

Marketing emails may be sent to you only if you have explicitly provided consent.

You may opt-out and unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link provided at the bottom of our emails.

6. Data Retention

We retain account data while your account remains active with us.

You may request account deletion at any time by emailing us at: support@piknova.com

Upon receiving a deletion request, we will remove your account data within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Cookies & Analytics

We use analytics and advertising technologies to understand how the Service is used and to serve ads that keep it free. The cookies and similar storage set on this site fall into three groups:

  • Essential: sign-in and session cookies set by Clerk, only if you create an account. Without these an account cannot work.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics, PostHog, Ahrefs Analytics and DataFast, which measure page views, which tools get used, and where people get stuck. PostHog also records sessions (clicks, scrolling, page changes) with every piece of text, every form field and your images hidden, so a recording shows where someone got stuck and never what they typed or made. Recordings are kept for 30 days.
  • Advertising: Google AdSense and its partners, covered in the Advertising section above, including the opt-out links.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking them will not stop the image tools from working, because those never needed a server in the first place.

If you rate a tool, we also keep a random ID in a first-party cookie and in your browser's local storage, so that one person rating several tools is not counted as several people. It contains nothing about you and is not shared with anyone.

8. International Transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country of residence, including in countries where our trusted service providers operate.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable and industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, please note that no internet transmission is 100% secure. You use the Service at your own risk.

10. Your Rights

Regarding your personal data, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Correct anything inaccurate
  • Delete your data
  • Receive a copy in a portable format
  • Object to processing
  • Ask us to restrict processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time

To make a request, email support@piknova.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. There is no charge, and you do not have to give a reason for a deletion request.

If you are in the UK, the EEA or another region with a data protection authority, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it, but that right does not depend on our permission.

11. Children's Privacy

Piknova is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. It is not intended for use by anyone under 13, and where local law sets a higher age for consent to data processing (16 in parts of the EEA and the UK), that age applies instead.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, email support@piknova.com and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements.

Continued use of the Service after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
